A World of Illusions

There's no point in watching a SRK / Salman movie in India if you don't watch the first show on the first day in one of the nearest local cinemas! Summer vacations always bring one super hit movie; something that's a sin to miss (Just kidding).

It so happened that we had gone to watch Kabir Khan's Tubelight starring our very own Salman Khan. Frankly speaking, I'm rather a SRK fan, yet the build up of excitement in the theater is one of the best feelings!

I've heard that this movie had not matched fans' expectations. Whereas they had anticipated action scenes, Salman only delivered a mere slap in two hours and fifty-one minutes.

I guess not being a die-hard Salman fan worked for me because I do not fantasize action scenes. Instead, I was amazed at the way he acted without fighting in this movie.

Tubelight, a movie revolving around the Sino-Indian war, explores the life of Lakshman and his journey on faith. 'Kya tumhe yakeen hai?'

Songs covered all genres, and the movie was a big hit. However there was one scene that stayed in mind; the one scene that was so important yet so ironic.

How do we judge people; who do we consider our own? In a world of selfishness and greed, how do you distinguish between the good and bad. Or is it all just an illusion. Is it just a matter of perception? Are we being too harsh on some people just because they're not part of our 'clan' or 'society' and do not follow our 'religion'?

Jal gaya tubelight!
