Chapter 23:- Transformations...

Explanations and Revelations, what had her life changed into?

“How can I be…her?” I exclaimed.
“I expected this reaction. Don’t panic, I’ll explain everything to you.” The officer answered calmly.
“The aura phenomenon has been discovered quite recently, and so we can only share what we know. Scientists had received many requests on people wanting to know who they really were. They wanted to know how they could distinguish themselves from others and what their inner talents were. Some had asked out of random curiosity, but the many were very serious. These scientists then decided to investigate and research to come up with answers to their questions. After all, competition is a big factor in today’s world, so such questions were expected. So this was how the aura phenomenon begun.” Ms. Maria Gold started.
“After numerous years of hard work and efforts, we found out, that auras were one rare thing which differentiated a person from others. Differences such as face and body structure could be easily identified, but changes in auras cannot. You need to develop some skills in order to see these. The team came up with a new invention which is now known as the Aurester. As mentioned earlier, the role of the Aurester is to find a person’s inner self through advanced technology. The only drawback we had was the method of probability. Depending on your DNA, the Aurester would find one possible suitable match for a person. But situations as such arose, where that possible match was proven incorrect, leading that person to perish.” I slowly gulped a lump formed in my throat and clasped my hands again.
“There have been two causes for people to die through this process. One, because the Aurester couldn’t choose a correct match for a person. And two, because that person did not have capability to withstand all that pressure, pain and energy required. Families started questioning about their whereabouts. And we couldn’t share anything; we were bound by restrictions. The testing is supposed to be as secretive as possible.”
“Why does it have to be sec-secretive?” I stuttered. She gave me a long stare before answering.
“You might have heard, that there is a age limit for the Aurester to test you. The minimum age is 15 but the maximum is 25. Some people, who are not as fortunate as you, don’t realize or don’t wish to get their auras tested. What happens, is that your aura soon gets out of control. The aura needs energy to charge itself, and it feeds off other people surrounding it, because it isn’t trained. As an aura takes the energy from a person, they start to feel weak and sick due to the poison it leaves behind. And because there isn’t any cure to this, your they start to perish because of their misfortune. Your aura then starts feeding off you too, leading you to death as well.” Ms. Gold heaved a deep sigh.
I was as stiff as ice. My throat felt completely dry, and I was sure my fingers were dark purple by now. Guilt filled my heart, I now realized why Noor di was so keen on getting my aura tested. And what did I do? I shouted at her, when she was just being the best caring sister I could ever get. I felt sorrowful for all those families who lost their dear ones as well as their own lives. What if that had happened to me and my family? How would I ever be able to overcome the guilt? I owed my life to Noor di!
“I know what you are feeling right now…we all have experienced the guilt multiple times. But this is the harsh reality of life..”
“No it isn’t!” I interrupted, tears brimming.
“It isn’t the harsh reality of life! Reality is not innocent people sacrificing their lives. Reality is not families mourning for their loved ones. You said that this aura concept has been discovered recently, right? So what about the people in the olden days. What about the rulers or merchants, or servants in any of these past eras? Don’t everyone have auras? Then why are people perishing now?” I bombarded her with innumerous questions.
“Calm down Roshni…I can understand the pain and confusion you are going through, but you have to calm down…for the sake of…..all the people around you?” She pleaded.
I realized what I was doing, and I had no intention of harming anyone with me ‘new aura’!
“Your perspective is totally correct. Families should not be paying the price of our mistake. That is why we testing a person’s capability before starting Provoking Past. As for you questions, the only answer is greed, jealousy, and insecurity. As times have gone by, humans have become greedier in every way possible. They desire for everything in the world, and yet still want to be different and unique. People in the 15th century and older had their auras controlled unknowingly due to their unity and peace compared to now. Do you now understand, Roshni?” She spoke softly.
“I am sorry..” I whispered a quick apology.
“I told you about the two causes of death earlier. From what we have seen, most people survive either because of having the required capability or because the Aurester manages to find the perfect match for the person. Very few, and I mean very few pass the first stage due to both reasons. And people who do, enter the ‘Exceptionally Specials’ category.
“So I am…” I hesitated.
“Yes you are categorized in the Exceptionally Specials section. This basically means that you have more advanced supernatural powers than other people. We confirmed this through your results which shows your aura color.” Ms. Gold revealed.
“Aura color?” I asked, confused.
“Yes…each and every person has an aura color. Some have single colored auras while others have a mixture of two or three colors, depending on their capability. From what we have examined, the majority has had auras of just single color, for example pink, red, or blue. People who we observe are a bit more stronger than these enable bicolored auras. As I mentioned before, the few people who enter our Exceptionally Specials section have tricolored auras. And you have one!” She concluded.
I did not know how to react to so much information that just blew past me. Just like the last day of shoot, four hours changed everything. This seemed like fantasy to me, as if I would just wake up any moment and guffaw at this bizarre dream. But this was it….this was reality. A reality my heart refused to believe. I suddenly felt responsible for all those innocent deaths. A tear rolled down my eye and this time I did not wipe it away. Why did I get these supernatural powers? Why am I different from others? Why can’t I just go back to where I was? Why couldn’t everything go back to normal? Normal….a word that sounded so casual but was near impossible.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what to say…” I whispered softly.
“It’s okay Roshni…I can completely understand what you are going through right now.” Maria Gold’s eyes softened and for a second I felt like embracing her in a tight hug. But I had to control myself….there were still some facts that had to unfold.
“What is my aura color?” I finally asked with a sigh.
SilAngEd.” She stated in an expressionless tone.
“What?! What sort of color is that?” I questioned in shock.
“ It is a combination of three colors Roshni.” She answered calmly. I waited for her to continue.
SilAngEd represents Silver, Orange and Red. A person’s characteristics determines its aura.
“And I possess characteristics that represent these colors?” I asked. ‘What was I even asking…she just said so.’ I reprimanded myself.
“Yes you do. Red is considered one of the most powerful colors found in an aura. It symbolizes patience and the capability to survive almost all circumstances. Orange indicates great personal power and confidence. And Silver- a very rare and precious color represents physical and spiritual wealth. You are very knowledgeable as well as very powerful mentally and physically. These characteristics not only represent you as Roshni Walia, but you as Maharani Ajabde Punwar too. ” She explained.
The name ‘Ajabde’ sent shivers down my spine. I felt proud to be so powerful. But why did I need to be commanding and influential? I mean, there wasn’t anyone with whom I would fight..
“Yes you do Roshni, you do need to fight.” Ms. Gold spoke, sensing my doubts.
“You have gone through a lot Roshni, and I want you to think and familiarize yourself with all this information. I promise, I will tell you everything, but not at this moment.” She gave an assuring look.
“Where are we going?” I inquired as we proceeded towards another room.
“Just follow me, and please no questions, we don’t have much time left.” Ms. Maria Gold hushed me. Not much time left for what?
We reached a pitch black square room, which resembled a huge black box. There was just one bright spotlight shining at the center of the ceiling.
“Why are we here?” I asked again, not being able to control my patience anymore.
“We are here to accomplish the second stage of this process; The Development!” She announced, widening my eyes.
I clasped my hands in anticipation.
“Roshni, I explained everything about auras…and now it is time to enable your aura, it is time for your aura to rise and protect you.” She announced.
I gave a slight yet understanding nod and took a deep breath, ready to embrace the ‘new me’.
